I am Ben Le Marchant and I have been employed as an Integrated Production Artist at Specsavers in Guernsey since April 2021. My role allows me to create a wide range artwork that will be viewed all over the world. I am very proud to be part of an award winning creative team which such a large reach and range of opportunities.

Outside of my job at Specsavers, I worked on a few projects in my spare time. This included creating a poster and props for a local Guernsey film called ‘Dare to Dream’. My biggest achievement during this time was winning Guernsey’s Platinum Jubilee flag competition in 2022. This gave me the opportunity to present my design to Prince Edward and the Countess of Wessex in person. My flag was also flown in central St Peter Port for several months.

As a freelance designer in 2020-2021, I was fortunate to have the States of Guernsey as one of my clients. I worked on projects such as the 75th Anniversary of Liberation Day logo, branding and merchandise. I have also done work around Beau Sejour leisure centre such as the signage for the cafe and posters and logo for the cinema.

I worked at Livingroom Estate Agents as a creative in 2019-2020 where I managed their social media as well as working on promotional campaigns using digital and print based media. I also gained experience in photography and floor plan creation during my time there.

I graduated from the Arts University Bournemouth in 2019. My degree was an amazing experience and I developed new skills and a better understanding of graphic design’s potential to change opinions.

During the final year of my degree, I was shortlisted for the RSA Student Design Awards (2018/19). As a finalist in the competition, I had to pitch my project to a judging panel at the RSA in London. This included senior members of the RSA and the Chief Executive of Network Rail.

I am interested in all areas of graphic design and I particularly enjoy print and typography. I am eager to learn as much as I can about every aspect of design and try things outside of my comfort zone.

I am very passionate about what I do and welcome any work collaborations and opportunities that come my way.
